Helping an equipment maker resolve field disconnections

An equipment maker brought problems in its existing connected devices to YIIIOT. We connected the hardware, firmware and platform investigation, then developed recovery and data-reconciliation behavior the client could support.

Illustrative story. The customer, conversation and outcome are examples, not a delivered customer project or measured result.

The equipment maker brought an existing problem to YIIIOT

The client’s own connected devices worked in office tests but generated disconnection and missing-data reports at users’ sites. Returned units were difficult to diagnose, leaving its engineering and support staff travelling between the two.

The client had already invested in the board, module and platform. YIIIOT’s assignment was to investigate the gaps between those parts, retain useful work and make field recovery and diagnosis manageable.

We bring it back and it works. At the user’s site it disconnects again. They need the equipment; repeated restarts cannot be the whole answer.

We reconstructed one incident across the system

We compared installation and power conditions, host and module logs, and platform receipts on one timeline. The client’s teams could discuss the same event with shared evidence.

We checked network recovery separately from delivery of business data, identified the missing steps after reconnection and agreed the necessary hardware, firmware and platform changes.

YIIIOT connected recovery with data reconciliation

We adjusted host-module timeout handling and added the required local records, retransmission and receipt checks. Working circuits and platform functions remained part of the solution.

Integration covered disconnections, restarts and service interruptions, with a recorded explanation of how the device recovered and how the platform confirmed receipt.

The client could operate and investigate the improved system

The illustrated solution addressed repeated manual restarts and unexplained recovery: within the agreed retest conditions, communication recovered and retransmitted records could be checked. Exceptions had a defined handling path.

YIIIOT handed the client matching versions, test records and field instructions. Its support staff could follow the same evidence when equipment users reported a problem, with remaining site conditions documented for follow-up.
