Helping a home integrator coordinate equipment worth keeping

The client needed one scene across products from different brands, but available proposals left compatibility gaps. YIIIOT assessed interfaces and developed gateway and software integration for the agreed devices.

The client wanted to retain useful equipment for residents

A home integrator brought the lighting, shading and environmental devices in a project to YIIIOT. Each worked independently, but the client could not complete the resident’s intended scene.

Earlier proposals covered separate product groups. The client commissioned us to assess compatibility and implement feasible hardware, firmware and software integration.

Every discussion seems to end with replacing everything. These devices are still useful. Which of them could we keep?

We defined one resident’s intended scene

YIIIOT and the client mapped arrival-home actions to models, interface documentation, permissions and local controls. Every requested action had an explicit equipment condition.

Restricted or unsupported devices had their reasons and alternatives recorded. The integrator could explain to residents what could remain and what needed changing.

YIIIOT implemented coordination for the agreed equipment

We developed the gateway and interfaces for supported devices, connecting commands, feedback and manual actions within the scene while respecting each device’s permitted controls.

Integration covered missing responses, outages and manual intervention. The display distinguished completed actions from those needing attention, with a versioned compatibility list.

The client had a scene it could put into residents’ hands

In this example, YIIIOT resolved the client’s missing cross-device coordination and interface implementation. The agreed scene worked across the supported equipment, with retention and compatibility conditions explicit.

We handed device lists, interface versions and configuration references to the integrator. It could use them to assess later additions or changes to an existing platform.
