An established switch or lighting maker wanted to enter the smart-home market. It had mechanical expertise, suppliers and sales channels but needed connectivity, interaction and software capabilities.

The client approached YIIIOT with questions about installation, offline use, updates and support as well as the electronics. We included them in one product-development scope.

We selected a familiar client product and agreed why someone would choose the connected version, including the feel and controls that should remain.

Construction, assembly and production checks informed how the new electronics and firmware would fit the client’s manufacturing process.

We developed connectivity alongside everyday use

YIIIOT developed the board, device firmware, setup and application interactions, and required management services. Installation, control, reconnection and updates formed a complete workflow.

The client’s dealers and support staff tried the version, helping us refine status information and instructions for both users and installers.

The illustrated work closed the gap between the client’s established manufacturing and connected-system development, producing a version for demonstration, trials and further validation.

YIIIOT handed over engineering information, test requirements and maintenance references, identifying reuse and later validation needs. The client could plan its next product from that record.
