Helping a teaching-kit maker support more activities with one product

The client wanted to extend the value of its own kits

An established teaching-equipment maker brought models and experiment kits to YIIIOT. Schools already knew them; the client wanted digital material and interactive feedback to support more activities.

It needed to preserve useful equipment, keep setup approachable and organize future content work. We were commissioned to develop the additional electronics and software around those needs.

The kit works well. If teachers could keep finding useful new activities for it, it could serve the school for much longer.

We began with teachers’ established routines

YIIIOT and the client reviewed intended activities, identifying changes students needed to observe and material that could help teachers explain them.

Device compatibility, school networks and screens, and responsibility for updates were agreed alongside the development work.

YIIIOT added interaction and content management

We adapted sensing and feedback for a representative kit and developed the teaching application and content tools. The existing hands-on activity remained central.

Activity switching, updates and teacher instructions were included, with content associated with compatible device versions. The client could assess what a later activity required.

The client could offer schools further ways to use its product

In this example, YIIIOT addressed the missing digital interaction and update tools. The client received a version whose activities could be demonstrated, changed and maintained.

We handed over compatibility and update information. The client could organize teaching content and school support, with agreed YIIIOT support for product iteration; classroom use remained the basis for assessing educational value.
