Making a manufacturer’s existing data useful to maintenance staff

The client had invested in sensors and a dashboard but still chased information after a stoppage. YIIIOT aligned device, gateway and platform event records so staff could examine what happened around a particular machine.

The client wanted its existing system to help maintenance

A manufacturer brought its workshop data system to YIIIOT. Sensors and a dashboard were installed, yet technicians still interviewed operators, checked separate logs and contacted the original software supplier after a stoppage.

The client commissioned us to connect acquisition with useful incident history. Existing sensors and platform functions were assessed as part of the improvement.

The numbers keep moving on the screen. When a machine stops, we still depend on someone’s memory. Can we make better use of what we have bought?

YIIIOT reconstructed a stoppage with the client

We compared operator observations, device times, platform events and maintenance entries to find missing links.

Reading sources, units, reporting intervals and equipment references were checked together, giving production, maintenance and IT staff a common interpretation.

We linked data with equipment and handling history

YIIIOT organized fields, timestamps and events, corrected mapping between firmware, gateways and the application, and developed a maintenance-oriented view.

Equipment location, changes around an incident and previous-shift actions shaped the display. Previously separate information shared an equipment identity and time reference.

The client’s maintenance team could begin with a usable record

In this example, YIIIOT resolved the disconnect between the client’s data and field events. Technicians could review a machine’s sequence and combine it with physical inspection to investigate causes.

We handed over field definitions, equipment mappings, versions and upkeep instructions for later shifts and new devices. Any reduction in downtime remained for actual operating records to establish.
