Developing remote-field monitoring for a growing business

The client’s monitoring plans had stalled over power, connectivity and maintenance. YIIIOT developed acquisition hardware, low-power firmware and platform functions around the conditions in its fields.

Available equipment had not met the client’s site needs

A growing business brought its remote-field monitoring requirement to YIIIOT. Earlier options relied on unsuitable power or connections, or called for frequent maintenance trips.

The client managed several plots and wanted useful information without adding unnecessary travel. We were commissioned to turn the site constraints into a workable hardware, firmware and platform design.

I am willing to install it. If we keep driving out to change batteries or investigate lost signals, we have not solved the problem.

YIIIOT established how the information would be used

We distinguished routine trends from changes requiring a prompt response, then set acquisition and reporting around those uses.

Power, coverage, mounting, seasonal conditions and maintenance routes were considered together. The client could understand how each choice affected everyday work.

We developed the node and its management tools

YIIIOT designed the relevant sensing and acquisition, operating and sleep behavior, communication and outage storage, then connected node status to the management view.

Observation on a representative plot informed reporting and power adjustments. Staff also had a way to identify missing data and maintenance needs.

The client had a site-based solution to use and assess

In this example, YIIIOT combined the separate requirements into a monitoring prototype and workflow. The client could review plot information and node condition and use trial records to assess expansion.

We handed over battery, sensor and firmware-care information with the limits of the site checks. Deployment scale and maintenance intervals remained grounded in observed records.
